Since 1981

The Cottage Children’s Center is a private, non-profit childcare center that was founded in 1981 by a group of Marlborough parents and was incorporated as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1988. The Cottage is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents, alumni parents, and community leaders. The Center is managed by an Executive Director and leadership team.  The program is licensed by the Massachusetts Office for Early Education and Care and since 2001, accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

NAEYC administers the largest and most widely recognized national, professionally sponsored accreditation system for all types of early childhood schools and childcare centers. NAEYC is the nation’s largest professional organization for early childhood educators.
