CLASS OF 2010 KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION

The Cottage Children's Center honored their Kindergarteners at their Graduation Exercise on Friday, June 25th. Barbara McGann, Executive Director of AMAS was the keynote speaker.

The graduates and their guest enjoyed a brunch prepared by the center staff. Angela Longa, the Music Director played her flute for the occassion as well as accompanied the centers children as they sang. All the classes took part in the celebration. Karrie, our Kindergarten teacher presented the diplomas to the graduates. .

Visit from Commissioner Killins

Dr. Sherri Killins, Commissioner of the Department of Early Education and Care for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts spoke with staff and parents at the Cottage Children’s Center on Monday evening, July 12th.

EXPERIENCE?

The Cottage offers a small classroom experience for only 9 lucky children. Our curriculum includes Everyday Math, Scott Foresman's Reading Street and Handwriting Without Tears. Our Science and Social Studies programs match the themes in our reading program. We accept children in our Kindergarten who have missed the public school deadline if they pass our Kindergarten Readiness Screening. We have a Music Specialist and a Gymnastic Program as well. Our teacher, Alysha Greene is a graduate of Worcester State and incorporates the Cottage philosophy of Creativity, Imagination and Individualization into her program. LOOKING FOR SUMMER CAMP

The Cottage Children's Center offer a special summer program for children up through Kindergarten. Set up like a summer camp, the children participate in waterplay three times a week, have a barbecue once a week, enjoy a special program of themed activities and enjoy a different special guest each week. Our Music Specialist comes every Friday to add to the merriment. The children will be doing three field trips this summer - Davis Farm Land, Ecotarium and Natick Farm. We are in the process of scheduling Swimming Lessons with Wayside Pool and Racquet Club. Contact us for more detail.
